Officials for BSL Boley Cup Final 2009 at Yate Town  Bristol Athletic FC - Division Three Champions 2007/8

The club BAFC, born from Soundsville Sports, was originally founded as a Sunday League club with two competitive teams. The recent acquisition of a Saturday, and under-18’s side has seen them grow and challenge for trophies on four fronts.

The Bristol Athletic Saturday side is mainly comprised of University of Plymouth graduates. The team was set-up by Carl Hart just in time for the start of season 2007/08, when he realised the volume of football playing graduates in the Bristol area.

Most players had previously played at BUSA standard – which stood them in good stead for their inaugural Suburban League 3 Championship winning season. Coupled with this, an amazing team spirit and togetherness because of their University roots has seen the team gel almost instantaneously. As well as finishing a massive 16 points clear at the top of the league, the side also managed to progress to the Semi Finals of both the GFA Intermediate and Norman Goulding Cups. With a young team the ‘University of Plymouth Old Boys’ plan to build on 2007/08’s success by acquiring even more quality players, and hopefully, more silverware!
